The LMS story is one of leadership and communication rather than command and control. Its people are self-directing and self-organizing. On a construction job you can quickly identify who will excel, who has the drive, the dedication, the character and the integrity. People who share the same values tend to find each other. LMS Co-Chairs and Founders Ron McNeil and Ivan Harmatny have recruited the best of the best, and through leadership that models their commitment to customer satisfaction, have built a company with a drive to deliver and a pride in performance.

Throughout the 1980s and 1990s, McNeil and Harmatny earned a reputation for reliability and professionalism as they serviced job sites throughout Greater Vancouver and BC in their pickup truck. LMS was formally launched in 1998 with the acquisition of equipment and inventory, and the partners lost no time distinguishing themselves from the competition and raising industry standards. They did so by implementing rigorous training and safety programs that are constantly upgraded and monitored. Equally important, they created a culture of integrity by treating every employee, no matter their tenure or position, with respect and generosity.
In 2008, the remarkable success of LMS was recognized with the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the
Year Award.

Today, Ron McNeil and Ivan Harmatny remain fully engaged in LMS’s daily operations. Their expertise
and experience is now supported by an extraordinary Executive Team with diverse backgrounds, skills
and proven abilities.
